Introduction

Well folks, Hartlands is an interesting school, especially with people like Brad and so on. Reality at British independent schools hopefully looks different!

So let's try to get in idea of what British independent schools are like by having a look at some homepages. A homepage offers information about a person, a company or, like in this case, about a school on the World Wide Web (WWW). Our school has a homepage as well, of course, here it is:

http://www.ulricianum-aurich.de

Whether the information on a homepage offers a real impression of a school is always difficult to say. You may judge for yourselves, whether our school's website (a website offers loads of information while a homepage is more or less the starting page) is representative of our school or only shows a small part of it. You are a pupil of this school, so you know about it, don't you?

Your task today

Pick out a homepage of an independent school and klick through it. Read all the interesting pieces of information offered there to get an idea of the school. The work-sheet will help you to watch out for some special aspects, but don't only concentrate on them, please.

At the end of the lesson I will ask you to send me an email with five new words you worked out and would like all of us to learn.
