 Interpretation of the Vogon Poem

1              ”O freddled gruntbuggly thy micturations are to me

2             As plured gabbleblochits on a lurgid bee.

3             Groop, I implore thee my foonting turlingdromes.

4             And hooptiously drangle me with crinkly bindlewurdles,

5             Or I will rend thee in the gobberwarts with my blurlecruncheon, see if I don’t.”

(by Prostetnic Vogon Jeltz; see p. 56/57)

       Interpretation:
·        consists of only one stanza and five verses
·        verses 1 and 2 have an AB- rhyme

·        verses 3 to 5 have an ABC-rhyme or no rhyme

·        verses 1 and 2 have the metre “iambus”

·        verses 3 to 5 have the metre “trochee”

·        it becomes obvious that verses 1 and 5 begin with an O, 2 and 4 with an A and the third with a G

·        a lot of the words don’t exist like “lurgid” (see v. 2)

·        seems only to deal with the author because of “me, I “ and so on

·        doesn’t have any sense and evidence
